Charlie Chaplin

Who knew a sand mustache could be so cute? Jeremy thought the measuring cup might be a stand-in pipe.

Standing Alone

Weird angle, I know--but this is the first picture I've captured of Josiah standing alone! He does it well for good lengths of time now, and he's taking steps every day. The most steps he's managed before falling is two or three so far.

The Christmas Bike

Once upon a cold Christmas night, Uncle James and Aunt Emily gave their nephew a bike. The tag at the back says "not appropriate for children under 18 months of age." But did that stop Josiah, fresh into his eighth month? Oh no. In fact, he learned to skim across Grandma's kitchen floor in just a few hours. And when we came home, he worked that bike up and down the driveway. He took a few tumbles, but every day he trained and soon could whisk along the pavement, keep his balance over bumps, head off-road into the grass, pick leaves from his comfortable perch, pop a wheelie, and even steer (a bit).

So here are some pictures of Josiah and his bike.

Teeth!

Though not the greatest picture, this does show the clear evidence of plenty of teeth! Josiah has five of them--the one just left of the top incisors cut through last week.
