Our Girls

Daniel and Lauren came to visit the second day we were in the hospital.

Josiah was happy to have Mama and Daddy home, and he has spurts of interest in his new sisters! Here he's pointing to and naming various parts of Abby's face--ears, nose, eyes (we try to avoid the poking on this one), etc. He seems fascinated that they have all these parts, too!

In the below picture, he's holding out his hand in hopes of Abby licking him--like he does with dogs.

Here he's saying, "Hi!" He says it in a sweet, high-pitched voice whenever he sees the "bebes."

He loves to kiss them!

What a big boy he seems to us now.

Abby stuck out her tongue--and Josiah thought it was pretty funny. He was recounting the story to us here.

Twins!

As any of you readers of this blog know, Lydia and Abby joined our family on the 17th of February! I plan to post some pictures of their first days in a few separate posts, as I have time. Here are some to start.

Dr. Wareing did a great job handling the delivery--I'm SO thankful for her! She made an executive decision to stay in the labor and delivery room (rather than move to the OR, as per hospital policy with twins) when I suddenly had to push with Lydia, so we never had to be moved. She calmly and expertly delivered Abby breech when she wouldn't turn vertex after her sister's birth. And she was encouraging and reassuring through the whole birth process. There she is on the left in this picture--sadly a little blurry. On the right is Amy, our wonderful labor and delivery nurse.

And my mom, now a grandma of three!

Jer is holding Abby, and Lydia is under the warmer in the below picture.
