I have lots of vacation pictures to share, even with the weeding out I've done. Partly this is because we have my sister's, sister-in-law's, and cousin's photos as well as ours! Anyway, as I have time, I'll post some pictures from our week at Long Lake in Michigan. We had beautiful weather, lots of family, and plenty of fun. I especially enjoyed watching Josiah play hard every day--he had a blast! Thank you to all of you who made Lorien so fun for him. Here are some pictures of him on the playground during that week up north.
Jeremy introduced him to the merry-go-round. Even though he clung tightly and unsmilingly to the bars the entire ride, apparently he asked for "more 'gen" (more again, i.e., another ride) several times. Finally Jer stopped him because he looked like he was getting sick.
Vacation with small children means someone has to get up early. One morning my dad and I were out with Josiah and the girls. I snapped a few shots of Josiah playing on the tennis court and playground. He tried out every piece of equipment at some point during the week.
After one bad fall last winter, Josiah has done a great job on the "big boy" swings. He asks to go "up high"!
Below Josiah is pushing Pa on the merry-go-round.
Josiah loved this tall slide! Throughout the years we've gone to Lorien (since '93?), the hordes of little kids have played squash the lemon. This year Josiah joined the crew of my cousins' kids with round after round of this bump-your-neighbor slide game!
Pa humored him and played sometimes, too.
Here's Josiah coming down at Jonas and Ben. We didn't want the little guy to put his legs over the side while coming down (and thankfully he didn't want to, either), but the kids at the bottom bore the brunt of his shoes when he hit the line-up of them during squash-the-lemon.
This airplane swing (below) was his favorite--even over the "big boy" swings. He wanted underdog after underdog.
Pa and happy Lydia
