Vacation Campfires


Josiah remembered lots from last year's vacation, so one of his oft-repeated requests this year was to "camp-out" or "go camping," meaning have a campfire (and thus s'mores). He got his wish granted a few times up at Lorien.

We usually put our children to bed before the "big kids" or adults made a campfire, so we ensured Pa or Daddy got a fire going on a few different nights while the little kids could enjoy it. (Summer evenings in northern MI mean late light, so we could actually take decent pictures of the kids!)

Lorien has two fire pits--one by the playground (above), and one by the beach (below). We used the beach fire pit during the second (much colder) week.
