Evenings at the Park

We've enjoyed taking the kids to a nearby park a few evenings in the past several weeks. They like to ride their bikes around the sidewalks and down the hills. They also like to run after and scare the birds and ducks. Sometimes they play a bit on the playground, but lately they've preferred their bikes and scooters.

A month or so ago, we got some pictures of all four of them together--no small feat! Here they are on the bridge (with me trying to be clandestine behind Clara).

And here they are up in a tree (don't worry, I'm again making sure Clara is supported!) . . .

Abby decided to go rogue in her poses . . .

It's hard to get everyone looking and smiling, as you can see! I like the picture below of the twins smiling and Josiah and Clara looking thoughtfully off in the opposite direction together.

And then we have almost all looking, if not quite smiling (oh, Abby) . . .

Sorry to all but the grandmas for the picture overload! :)

We went a few weeks ago and picked up Chipotle to split between us for a picnic. The kids loved it and requested a picnic again the next day. Here they are enjoying their food (and the treat of a few jelly beans afterwards!) . . .

They are speed demons on the bikes. It's fun to see Josiah do so well on his "big-boy" bike, and we always get questions and comments from strangers on the girls' biking abilities. Everyone is impressed with their balance and speed on those little peddle-less bikes!

Of course, sometimes they're overly confident and take hills or corners too fast. Sometimes they don't watch well enough and crash into each other (thankfully we've mostly avoided crashes into passersby). But overall they do a great job. I think those bikes were some of the best presents ever--thanks, Grandma and Pa!
